You can borrow funds from 6 months to 6 years and there are generally no penalties for repaying  early. 

Secured Loans generally are set against property or business assets. They tend to be more cost effective and you can borrow the funds for a longer period. 

Unsecured loans may still require a personal guarantee and can have higher interest rates and fees but they do offer more flexibility on what you can use the money for.
